With The Sentry inactive, The Void disappeared.Įventually, Robert Reynolds’ memories returned, and he became a hero again, even though he demanded to be held in The Raft supermax prison (seen at the end of Captain America: Civil War, where those who aligned with Captain America were held). Reynolds discovered that the villain was a personification of his own powers, the evil side of who he was he worked with some of the smartest in the universe to erase his existence from memory. Of course, his story isn’t all sunshine (pun intended) and rainbows, as The Void appeared and murdered a million people in Manhattan. He set out to be a hero that others could admire, aligning himself with Reed Richards, Tony Stark, and Steve Rogers. One evening, a meth addict named Robert Reynolds broke into a lab and consumed the Golden Sentry serum, gaining the power of a million suns. The Sentry is a character who is a product of a dozen scientific projects, all stemming from the attempt at recreating the super soldier serum that turned Steve Rogers into Captain America. She name-dropped The Void, and Sub-Atomica, which, if you aren’t a fan of The Sentry, the former is like someone dropping the name Joker and fans speculating on an upcoming appearance of Batman. While Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) spent the majority of the second act figuring out that Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) knew a lot more than she led on, we got some names that may sound familiar. If you haven’t seen the third film featuring Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, AKA Ant-Man, then stop reading, but there was a pretty compelling scene that leads fans to believe they are primed to see the Golden Guardian of Good.
